How do I apply for a Pets for Vets companion animal?

Veterans who live in the southern California area may apply online by sending an email inquiry from the Contact Us page. We will send you an application to complete and return to us to begin the process.

Who is eligible for a Pets for Vets companion animal?

Veterans in the southern California area, who have a condition that could benefit from a trained companion animal and who are able to care for a pet, are eligible to receive a Pets for Vets companion animal.

How do I donate a dog to a veteran?

We appreciate the generosity of people who have special dogs they would like to donate to veterans in need. However we are unable to accept dogs into our program because we specifically select each dog to match each veteran’s personality through careful evaluation and then provide training for the pet to better fit into the veteran’s lifestyle.

How can I help Pets for Vets if I can’t donate?

There are many ways that you can help Pets for Vets.

If you live in the southern California area we need:

Short term foster homes
Long term foster homes
